Marrakech - Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate

This 4-day trip is a condensed version of mountain roads, desert areas, Saharan landscapes, and traditional villages in southern Morocco.

You will travel between Marrakech, Taroudant, Foum Zguid, the dunes of M'Hamid, Ouarzazate, and back via the Tichka Pass.

Highlights of the trip:

First night in Marrakech.

Marrakech – Taroudant (via the Tizi N'Test pass)

First wake-up call in Marrakech and hearty breakfast at the riad.

At around 8:40 a.m., our private driver will pick you up at the riad and take you to the Rider Maroc base.

At 9 a.m., arrival at the base and meeting with your guide.

A welcome snack awaits you: tea, coffee, orange juice, dried fruit, and cakes.

Full briefing, document check, choice of equipment, familiarization with the motorcycles.

The 4x4 support vehicle takes your luggage and leaves ahead of you.

Departure no later than 10 a.m.

We ride along part of the ramparts of Marrakech and through working-class neighborhoods before leaving the city.

After about 30 minutes, we take the Tahanaout road towards the Tizi n'Test pass.

The climb to the pass is our first immersion into the spectacular world of the Atlas Mountains: a winding road ideal for getting to grips with the motorcycles and enjoying the landscape to the full.

When we reach the Tizi n'Test pass, at an altitude of 2,100 m, we are expected for lunch, where we enjoy our first tagine at our friend Mustapha's restaurant.

The afternoon is then spent in a more relaxed atmosphere, with the descent to Taroudant.

From the summit, the view of the Souss Valley, between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains, is simply magnificent.

Arrival in Taroudant around 5:30 p.m., check-in at Riad Le Jasmin, a green oasis with a magnificent swimming pool.

Aperitif, dinner at the riad, and a well-deserved night's rest. 

Taroudant – Foum Zguid – Camp in the dunes

A splendid day traveling through desert plains and Saharan landscapes to Foum Zguid.

In Foum Zguid:

You leave the motorcycles behind and board local 4x4s to reach the dunes in complete safety.

The journey includes:

• Crossing Lake Iriki, a spectacular dry lake

• Approximately 3 hours of tracks and dunes

• Total immersion in the Sahara

Arrival at a luxury bivouac in the heart of the dunes:

individual tents, comfortable beds, private showers and toilets.

Silence of the desert, magnificent landscapes.

Meal around a wood fire, traditional music, night under the stars.

Bivouac – Foum Zguid – Ouarzazate

Return by 4x4 to Foum Zguid via Lake Iriki.

You will collect your motorcycles.

Drive to Ouarzazate through desert plateaus, ochre landscapes, isolated villages, and mineral landscapes.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, check-in at an intimate guest house with a swimming pool.

Choice of:

– Relax by the pool.

– Visit Ouarzazate on foot.

Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate – Marrakech (via the Tichka Pass – 2,260 m)

Return via the Tichka Pass, a spectacular road through the High Atlas Mountains.

Magnificent panoramas, Berber villages, mineral colors.

Arrival at the Rider Maroc base.

Last drink at the bar, a warm and friendly moment.

Private transfer to your riad.

Dinner and last night in Marrakech.

Our private driver will pick you up 2.5 hours before your flight.

After spending so much time together, you'll almost become friends with him!

Our greatest satisfaction: seeing you smile when we say goodbye.

If your flight is late:

You can leave your luggage at the riad and enjoy one last stroll around Marrakech.

To extend your stay, we can arrange:

– additional nights in Marrakech,

– or a stay at Lake Lalla Takerkoust, at our friend Jean-Charles's place in Flouka,

for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We can also organize a half-day cultural tour with an official guide to discover the history, architecture, and iconic sites of Marrakech:
